High prescription drug prices have become a hot topic this month.

Recently, a hedge fund manager purchased rights to sell a drug that is decades old, and announced a 5,000% price increase on that drug.  This has caused a media firestorm and a public outcry, including strong pushback from some presidential candidates.

The practice of resurrecting legacy drugs, reviving their patents, and raising their price has been a high-cost, low-compassion strategy that impacts the most vulnerable of our populations and costs the overall health care system tremendously.   In order to learn more about what is going on, I decided to pull together five good articles covering this topic from the past ten days of media coverage.  These articles are linked below.
